Secret Cinema
November's Secret Cinema was 'One Flew Over the Cocko's Nest'.
The event took place in an old abandoned Hospital in Ladbrooke Grove. Designers, Artists and Performers where asked to create an installation or performance in the Hospital rooms, basing the design loosely on the the Film. (which is then screened to the audience once they meander round the space and experience the atmosphere)
I created a room with my fellow Designer Stephanie Johns.
We took inspiration from a quote regarding the process of a Lobotomy as when the smoke hazes over the eyes. The cover up of the secret C.I.A project 'MK-Ultra' that took place in the late 50's and 60's further influenced the design.
The audience had the switch to the hidden smoke machine presented to them on the window sill as they passed from the corridor. The fan was constantly on.
